A new must-visit in Vodice: Small Dalmatian market opens by ACI Marina
Today, the small Dalmatian market of local craftsman Josip Kraljević, owner of the award-winning Kraljević Distillery, officially opened its doors. Located across from ACI Marina Vodice, the market immediately attracted numerous visitors. The opening was held in true Dalmatian spirit – with music, entertainment, and tastings of local products.
This project, which has been the talk of the town for months, has now become a reality. The market consists of seven wooden booths that bring together the offer of local producers – from homemade brandies, wines, prosciutto, and cheeses to olive oil, almonds, fish, handicrafts, and souvenirs.
"I wanted to create something special, something our region deserves. A place where tourists and locals can come, taste, enjoy, and take a piece of Dalmatia with them. This is not just a shop – this is an experience," said Josip Kraljević.
The market's working hours are tailored to the evening – from 6 PM to midnight – when the sun sets, and walking around becomes pleasant and relaxing.
One booth offers fruits and vegetables from Split, another is dedicated to Baraka Winery, the third offers prosciutto and cheese products from Drniš. There are also handicrafts made by a girl from Vodice, products from Kraljević Distillery, fish products from Pepe Fish from Kaštela, and Mario Škarić's family farm offering olive oil and almonds.
When asked how the idea came to him, Josip said:
"To be honest, it came naturally. I had plenty of time to think while working at the stand. First, I rented one booth, then another… and then I thought – why not make a whole little square? That's how this small Dalmatian marketplace was born."
The goal was not to operate during the hot daytime but to offer a pleasant atmosphere in the evening.
"In the evening, when the sun sets, people can come, taste, have a drink, buy something, and simply enjoy."
Josip concluded:
"I want to thank all my friends, family, and fellow locals who helped – without them, this wouldn't have been possible."
Given its location, offer, and atmosphere, it is clear that Josip Kraljević's Dalmatian Market will become a must-visit spot for anyone coming to Vodice this summer.
